Vassar Brothers Medical Center, part of Nuvance Health, is seeking a part time Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its growing team in Poughkeepsie, New York, located just 75 minutes north of New York City.

OR Responsibilities

1st and 2nd assisting on all cardiac and thoracic cases EVH Radial artery harvesting Central line, thoracentesis, chest tube placement and all procedures typical to this specialty TAVR/robotic opportunities -24/7 service, in-house call

Patient Management Responsibilities

Critical Care/CTICU management CT Step Down Unit Patient Management Bedside Procedures Consults Pre-op evaluation Discharges Progress Notes

Qualifications

A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting is preferred, but new graduates will be considered.

Located on the banks of the scenic Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center has a new 752,000 square-foot, eight-level inpatient pavilion with 263 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms. Vassar provides the leading acute and critical emergency care in the region, including Level II Trauma Service and Interventional Neuroradiology. Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, neurosciences,cancer care, and women’s health. Vassar is consistently ranked as one of the strongest cardiac programs in the United States and one of the Top 100 Heart Hospitals by Modern HealthCare Magazine.
