Hino Motors Manufacturing is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.

We are currently seeking a Manager, HR & Administration for our Corporate Headquarter located in Novi, MI reporting directly to the Vice President, HR & Administration. This individual will be responsible for the Novi, MI location human resources activities, administration and talent management, including regional performance management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the HR/Administration team members.
  • Perform all corporate duties and functions for HMM.
  • Provide counsel to managers/employees on policy and disciplinary matters.
  • Manage training and development, performance management, succession planning for all locations.
  • Conduct company-wide training including policies and procedures, emergency preparedness, safety, ethics, sexual harassment, interviewing, travel/expense system, etc.
  • Create and monitor HR/Admin fiscal year budget.
  • Coach Managers in a variety of areas including staffing, performance management, employee development, and organizational change.
  • Conduct investigations of employee relations/performance issues and recommend countermeasures for resolution.
  • Continuously improve HR practices, policies and procedures, and employee morale.
  • Conduct monthly Team Member communication meetings.
  • Conduct annual company-wide engagement surveys and support facilitation of actions on survey items with reporting of action and results.
  • Develop and track monthly HR Key Performance Indicators.
  • Conduct exit interviews for Corporate location with quarterly reporting and analysis on turnover, continuous improvement actions and required exit processing.
  • Ensuring compliance with all State and Federal Regulations in employment practices and advise management.
  • Manage all employee relations: addressing personnel issues, investigations, terminations/disciplinary action, providing consultation to workplace concerns.
  • Conduct HR audits and compliance initiatives. Comply with SOX and provide all documents/information for all SOX audits.
  • Oversee HR/Admin SharePoint administration.
  • Oversee Vehicle Administration program, Travel/Expense System (Concur), ADP ATS, Learning Management System.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Human Resources, Psychology or Business required).
  • Master’s degree preferred (MBA or Other).
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years Human Resource managerial experience. Automotive experience highly desirable.

Required Skills:

  • HR managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with policy and procedure development.
  • Knowledgeable in training and development initiatives, employment law, employee engagement, employee relations, HRIS.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and data management skills.
  • Knowledge of ADP preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • 5-10% domestic travel to other Hino plants
