PRIDE Health is hiring: Phlebotomist in Town of Florida

Overview

Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Eustis, FL. This is a 3+ month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Title: Phlebotomist I

Location: Eustis, FL 32726

Pay Rate: $17.50 - $19.75/hr. on W2

Shift: Mon - Fri with rotational Saturdays, 5:30am to 2:30pm

Duration: 3+ Months

*Pay rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
• Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
• Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results.
• Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal.
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
• Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
• Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Job Requirements

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric care.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Superior customer focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to adapt to change; and knowledge of our business.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist required.
