Overview

Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in San Antonio, TX. This is a 3+ month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.40/hr on W2. Shift: Mon - Fri 7:30am - 4:30pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm. Duration: 3+ months.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
• Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
• Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
• Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal.
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
• Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
• Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Job Requirements

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment; able to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Superior customer focus with ability to communicate openly with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to adapt to change; and knowledge of our business.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a phlebotomist required.
