Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Regional Education Director and in accordance with YMCA policies, the Afterschool Site Coordinator is dedicated to the assigned site, overseeing the program in partnership with the school. The site director acts as the primary contact for school staff, parents, and guardians, helping establish and run the afterschool program. The role requires leadership skills and the ability to implement curriculum, provide quality experiences, and promote YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Position Details
This is a seasonal, part-time, hourly position paying $15.12 - $15.88/hour based on experience.
Essential Functions
Implement curriculum within established guidelines.
Design and execute daily lesson plans.
Supervise children, classroom, and activities.
Observe and evaluate children's progress.
Communicate with parents about program activities and children's behavior.
Conduct parent conferences and encourage parent involvement.
Maintain program site and equipment.
Keep accurate records including attendance, incident reports, and CACFP records.
Participate in family nights, staff meetings, and training.
Follow Healthy Eating and Physical Activity standards.
Train new staff on YMCA policies.
Supervise afterschool counselors and adjust schedules as needed.
Build relationships with school and community stakeholders.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Two years of college preferred, working towards a degree in education or related field.
At least 21 years old or relevant training.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire.
Experience working with children preferred.
Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
Experience with diverse populations and relationship-building skills.
Physical Demands
Ability to lead activities and participate actively.
