04/23/2025 Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and reliable Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation and quality, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and work well with others. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking dishes according to our recipes, and ensuring that every plate meets our high standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies Prepare station for service (mise en place, ingredients, garnishes) Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a clean and organized station and kitchen Assist with inventory and receiving deliveries Follow proper food handling procedures and hygiene practices Maintain compliance with required certifications, state mandated trainings and company required trainings. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements This position requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and working with hands and arms. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds independently, and occasionally more with assistance. Frequent exposure to hot equipment, open flames, sharp objects, and busy kitchen environments with varying noise levels. Ability to operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, knives, and mixers safely and efficiently. Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations in kitchen and food storage areas. This range reflects the base pay for this role and does not include other compensation or benefits. Work Location 8301 Hollister Avenue Santa Barbara, CA 93117 Qualifications Required Qualifications Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Prep Cook, or in a similar role Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Ability to work in a team and take direction Excellent communication and organizational skills Food Handler Certification required (must obtain prior to start date) Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a high-volume or specialty cuisine setting Familiarity with Mediterranean and/or fine dining cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles Experience working with specialty kitchen equipment (e.g., wok, tandoor, pasta machine, sushi knives, etc.) Passion for Mediterranean culture and culinary traditions ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification Ability to speak or understand basic terminology in English and Spanish is a plus Maple Hospitality Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and supporting an inclusive culture.
