An established retail real estate company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager in Astoria, New York. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred), at least five years of corporate accounting experience, proficiency in GAAP, financial analysis, and accounting software, along with strong leadership and collaborative skills.
This is a well-established, successful business offering a salary in the range of $100-110K and is fully onsite, 5 days.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, taxes, and financial statement preparation.
- Assessing current procedures and controls, making recommendations for improvements
- Working with outside accounting firm as well as banking relationships
- Hands-on banks recs, g/l entries and workpaper preparation
Qualifications
- Accounting degree plus 5 or more years of accounting experience
- Industry background in real estate or retail is highly preferred
- Experience and expertise in producing GAAP compliant reporting
- Strong systems skills and technical aptitude
