Shift/Time Zone: M-Th 8am-6:30pm, 1st shift, eastern time zone

Note: Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Job Description:

  1. The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
  2. The PSR II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
  3. The PSR II will demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center or as business needs dictate.
  4. Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
  5. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  6. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
  7. Verify patient demographic info/initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to ensure tubes are labeled in their presence and the name on the label is correct.
  8. Maintain required records and documentation.
  9. Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Job Requirements:

  1. Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
  5. Adherence to all policies & procedures, including dress code, employee health & safety, and guiding principles.
  6. Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours at multiple locations with minimal notice.
  9. Capability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  10. Superior customer focus, open and transparent communication, adaptability to change, and business knowledge.

Required Education:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  3. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:

  1. Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  2. At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  3. Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
  4. Keyboard/data entry experience.

Additional Details:

  1. Reliable transportation to/from worksites (personal vehicle preferred; bus, Uber, rideshare not reliable).
  2. Availability to work scheduled shifts, punctuality, and full shift commitment required.
  3. Excessive absenteeism/tardiness may lead to termination.
