Executive Administrative Secretary (Non-Merit)

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) performs many varied functions for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. OIG has six Divisions, the Division of Regulated Child Care, the Division of Health Care, the Division of Audits and Investigations, the Division of Certificate of Need, the Division of Telehealth, and the Division of KY Health Information Exchange.

These Divisions cover a wide variety of job tasks and duties in varied settings throughout Kentucky, which include inspecting and licensing childcare and healthcare facilities and services, and conducting investigations of complaints in those facilities, as well as conducting Medicaid fraud and other types of complaints for the Cabinet.

Responsibilities And Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Serves as assistant to the Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General positions.
  • Prepares technical and confidential letters/memos and other forms for approval.
  • Schedules appointments, meetings, and reviews correspondence for the Inspector General.
  • Serves a receptionist for the Office of Inspector General, answers the main phone line, greets visitors, and answers inquiries from professional organizations, government representatives and the public.
  • Completes special projects, studies, and reports.
  • Develops and maintains procedures and confidential correspondence, office records, and reports.
  • Maintains office and printer supplies and manages office procurement card.
  • Prepares travel documents for Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General.
  • Provides support for Human Resources, Budget, and the Division of Certificate of Need as assigned.
  • Maintains phone lists and Cabinet contact lists for office.
  • Responsible for attending, recording, transcribing of Executive Staff meetings and follow up with staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized skills
  • Computer skills including but not limited to, Outlook, Excel, Word, Power point, Adobe Acrobat and internet-based software.
  • Ability to work under pressure with time restraints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking and make decisions.
  • Ability to perform duties independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Minimum Requirements
