Interior Horticulturists are responsible for the care and maintenance of interior plants and botanic installations in client spaces across NYC. They play a crucial role in ensuring the health and appearance of plant installations, contributing to the positive experience for our clients by fostering a connection with the natural environment.
Responsibilities/Duties
Assess individual plant water needs and provide appropriate watering to maintain plant health. Monitor for pests and implement treatment as necessary to preserve plant integrity. Dust plant leaves and prune foliage to uphold a tidy and attractive appearance. Check automated systems (irrigation, lighting) regularly to ensure proper function. Assist with installations, including planting, delivery, and installation of interior plants. Support living wall installations as required. Check the calendar and Greenery NYC email daily for updates and communications. Maintain daily notes, update maintenance logs, and document photos in Google Drive. Care for Greenery plant inventory at our HQ/studio, ensuring plants are watered and cared for. Continuously develop horticultural skills and proficiency in operating and troubleshooting automated systems. Actively participate and contribute to meetings, projects, and company initiatives. Qualifications/Requirements
Strong interest in interior tropical plants. Minimum of 1 year experience working with plants in a professional setting or a degree in horticulture. Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to design and detail. Ability to lift objects weighing 30+ lbs regularly. Passion for plants and a positive attitude with a sense of humor. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and diverse work environment, demonstrating adaptability, resilience, and a proactive approach to handling multiple tasks and challenges simultaneously Availability to work 1 x off hours shift per week (7am -3pm) and one weekend shift
