Shift:
8:30pm - 6:30am; Rotating weekends (Four 10-hour shifts) The MetroHealth System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being. Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.
Summary
Under the general supervision of the medical director or designee, provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in-center and out-of-center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. Performs the duties defined for a sleep technician and provides guidance to other sleep center staff. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in-center and out-of-center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and direct patient education. Perform duties defined for a sleep technician and provide guidance to other sleep center staff. Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications
Required: High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and one of the following: Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) credential. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential. Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential. Meets continuing education requirements as established by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire. Reliable transportation to travel to any assigned MetroHealth Sleep Center. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications. Physical requirements: may sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently; may need to sit for extended periods; see in the normal visual range with/without correction; hear in the normal audio range with/without correction; finger dexterity to operate office equipment; may occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds; ability to communicate in person, by phone, and via other channels; ability to see computer monitor and documents.
