MAU is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for our client in Blythewood, SC. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, direct, and coordinate technical support for the manufacturing process, using a hands-on approach to improve quality, efficiency, and safety. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information
  • Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Education and Experience
  • 3 years of experience in an engineering position
  • Experience with CNC lathes, programming, and maintenance
  • Experience with Fanuc controls
  • Bearings experience
General Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Proficiency in CAD software or manual charted drawings
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and manufacturing metrics
  • Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, Koyo Production Systems, TS16949, and ISO14000
Essential Functions
  • Develop and evaluate manufacturing methods
  • Use a hands-on approach to solve manufacturing problems and improve processes
  • Analyze and troubleshoot production equipment using technical drawings and mechanical evaluations
  • Provide technical training to Operators, Setup Personnel, and Technicians
  • Communicate across all organizational levels to ensure efficient production methods
  • Design and document tooling using CAD or manual drawings for toolmakers
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout
  • Collaborate with planning and design staff to align product and tooling designs with efficient production methods
  • Work with vendors to determine specifications and coordinate procurement of equipment, materials, or parts
  • Evaluate products for compliance with specifications and quality standards
  • Estimate production timelines, staffing needs, and costs for management decisions
  • Coordinate with management and engineering to align manufacturing capabilities and production schedules
  • Apply statistical methods for forecasting manufacturing requirements and machine capabilities
  • Plan, implement, and report on cost-reduction projects
  • Support continuous improvement efforts including 5S, Kaizen, and quality systems compliance
Working Conditions
  • Approximately 75% of work is performed in a manufacturing environment and 25% in an office setting
  • Regular use of computers and office equipment required
  • Exposure to manufacturing areas requires use of personal protective equipment including safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection
Physical Demands
  • Requires hand, arm, and finger dexterity for computer and equipment operation
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
