JOB GOAL: Assists the Human Resources Director with implementing human resources management strategies to ensure smooth and efficient operations and employee certification.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months with salary established by the Lake Forest Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

TITLE: Administrative Secretary, Human Resources
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of secretarial/human resource/office management experience in a school district or educational setting.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and district laws, regulations and policies related to human resource management.
- Knowledge of state administrative code for teacher licensure and certification preferred.
- Ability to collect, organize and analyze multiple sources of data in order to improve processes and procedures related to human resource management.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite of Applications and other state information management systems (PHRST, DEEDS, Data Service Center, etc.).
LOCATION: Central Business Office
JOB GOAL: Assists the Human Resources Director with implementing human resources management strategies to ensure smooth and efficient operations and employee certification.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Human Resources Director with developing a complete onboarding process for new employees and exit process for employee attrition.
- Assists the Human Resources Director with the management, distribution and filing of all documents for the employee interview process.
- Use of PHRST (Delaware personnel management system) to enter, maintain and manage accurate employee information.
- Prepares, processes, and reviews supporting documentation related to employee licensure, certification, onboarding, and other personnel actions.
- Participates in the review of internal personnel management policies and procedures to make recommendations for revisions as appropriate.
- Provides professional and courteous customer service and timely response to staff and community inquiries.
- Sorts, files, and retrieves statistics, records and other materials while maintaining confidentiality as required.
- Ensures that proper documentation is included and organized in employee personnel records and prepares files for archives.
- Ensures that an accurate and timely personnel report is created for scheduled Board of Education meetings.
- Assists in preparing special studies, analyses and reports by gathering data, suggesting format, disseminating directives, and coordinating input (employment verification, seniority lists, background checks, etc.).
- Mentors and trains other district secretaries in personnel management activities when appropriate.
- Attend necessary state and local meetings and trainings to remain current on best practices and state regulations on personnel management and associated systems and software.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Director that pertains to the position of Administrative Secretary.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months with salary established by the Lake Forest Board of Education.
