Overview

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance abuse, as well as an array of other related problems. Responsibilities

• Complete daily janitorial checklist and all assigned tasks.
• Restock restrooms, general areas, and copy stations with necessary supplies (paper, towels, toilet paper, air fresheners).
• Clean and sanitize all restrooms; check fixtures for leaks or malfunctions and report any deficiencies.
• Empty all trash receptacles, condense waste, and neatly place in dumpsters; move dumpsters to designated areas on trash day.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floors, entryways, offices, and loading dock areas.
• Dust and wipe down all surfaces including tables, desks, cafeteria, offices, and group rooms.
• Clean interior and exterior windows, doors, and windowsills; wash exterior windows when weather permits.
• Maintain cleanliness of building grounds, stairwells, and loading dock; remove litter and debris regularly.
• Clean baseboards, dust blinds, and wash walls as needed.
• Inspect building exterior, roof, and windows periodically; report issues to onsite AVP.
• Remove snow and ice from walkways, stairs, and entrances; apply ice melt or rock salt as needed.
• Operate snow removal equipment (snow blower, shovels) safely and efficiently.
• Handle and dispose of biohazard materials, such as medication bottles, according to safety protocols.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and escalate unresolved issues to management.
• Notify management of maintenance or janitorial concerns.
• Keep storage and work areas clean, organized, and stocked with supplies; ensure maintenance tools are properly stored.
• Complete monthly building inspection checklist (e.g., exit signs, emergency light tests).
• Assist with furniture moves and setup requests.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma/GED.
• Janitorial experience and a willingness to learn new duties are required.
• Self-motivated, willing to take initiative, and able to work without direct supervision.
• Employee must be punctual and dependable.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., work at elevated heights (ladders, roof, etc.), lift files, open filing cabinets, and sit or stand as necessary. The ability to view a computer screen for long periods and communicate in English (via phone, writing, and verbally) with staff, patients, families, and outside contacts is required.

• Starting Pay: $17 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm with a rotating Saturday; hours may vary. Must work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
