Responsibilities North Spring Behavioral Healthcare is currently hiring a PRN Pediatrician to join our multidisciplinary clinical team.

The PRN Pediatrician will provide medical and diagnostic care to patients with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders in collaboration with our treatment team. They will deliver quality medical care, serve actively and constructively as a member of the multidisciplinary clinical team, and support the organization and our program's treatment philosophy.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Participates as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and provides clinical services to the facility in coordination with the facility Medical Director.

Actively participates as needed in treatment team meetings.

Attends and participates in department and other program or clinical meetings, as needed.

Assess, direct, and intervene in crisis situations.

Diagnose, prescribe medication, monitor medication side effects and participate in the treatment process of residents.

Provide and support evidence-based practice within the scope of the hospital's strategic vision and policies.

Provide on-call services based on hospital need and within the parameters of the employment agreement.

Participate as needed with the hospital's utilization review processes.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited medical school; completion of a pediatric residency.

Licensed as a Pediatrician in the State of Virginia.

Knowledge of appropriate assessment and evaluation tools and tests, diagnoses, and interventions with patients; knowledge of milieu management; advanced skills in medication management; knowledge of acute adolescent and child medical disorders. Professional experience of at least 5 years.

Prior experience in a residential or acute inpatient treatment program is preferred.

Prior experience in child and adolescent psychiatric care is preferred.
