PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER (Hybrid Schedule)

North Spring Behavioral Healthcare is currently hiring a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Hybrid Schedule) to join our Clinical Department! Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Participates as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team. Provides clinical services to the facility in coordination with the facility Medical Director. Actively participates in all treatment team meetings. Attends and participates in department and other program or clinical meetings, as needed. Assess, direct, and intervene in crisis situations. Diagnose, prescribe medication, monitor medication side effects and participate in the treatment process of residents in collaboration with the psychiatrist. Provides and supports evidence-based practice within the scope of the hospital’s Strategic vision and policies. Provides on call services based on hospital need and within the parameters of the employment agreement. Participates as needed with the hospitals utilization review processes. Location:

Excellent public school system. Qualifications Professional experience of at least 2 years. Graduate of an accredited nursing school; completion of a Family Nurse Practitioner program. Additionally, experience in child and adolescent psychiatric care is preferred. Prior experience in a residential or acute inpatient treatment program is preferred. Licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the State of Virginia. Knowledge of appropriate assessment and evaluation tools and tests, diagnoses, & interventions with patients; Knowledge of milieu management; Advanced skills in medication management; Knowledge of acute adolescent and child medical disorders.
