Overview

Mechanical Engineer (Water & Heavy Infrastructure) – join our Water business line, specializing in heavy mechanical engineering. In this role, you will design, develop, and oversee the fabrication of large-scale mechanical systems that are critical to water infrastructure. You will work on projects involving waterworks gates such as vertical lift gates, radial gates, sluice gates, Tainter gates, and sector gates. You will size and select winches, wire rope and chain hoisting systems, hydraulic, pneumatic and electric actuators, gear systems, and other precision mechanisms for these gates. You will also be involved with cranes associated with these structures and have experience with large pumps and pumping stations. Key Responsibilities

Design and develop heavy mechanical systems for water infrastructure projects. Create 3D models using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and other mechanical design software for use in detailed design drawings. Engineer and oversee fabrication of waterworks gates, hoists, actuators and associated control systems. Conduct engineering calculations and analysis to ensure structural integrity and mechanical performance according to industry standards and specifications. Review and approve engineering drawings and vendor submittals. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Civil, Structural, and Electrical Engineers. Provide technical guidance during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases. Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical systems in the field to ensure quality and compliance. Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables for assigned engineering tasks. Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation. Support proposal development by providing technical input and cost estimates. Interface directly with clients as needed.
