Career Start is a two-year rotational program for recent college graduates who are passionate about a construction management career. Participants join the program with a national cohort of peers and participate in different rotations to master the fundamentals of Estimating, Project Management, and Field Operations. A degree in construction management or a related field is not required. Those accepted into the program will begin work in July 2026. Estimating Responsibilities

In your estimating rotation you will work with the preconstruction team on many projects, creating detailed estimates forecasting each project’s total cost. Assist with a Subcontractor database. Assist with assembling Bid Documents for pricing. Document Take-off and quantity take-off, with use of digitizers and manual tools. Specification review and preliminary scope development; organize the take-off using spreadsheets. Develop bid clarifications and RFIs; participate in project walk-throughs as required. Review trade duration with subcontractors for input to the Project Schedule. Assist with the development and updating of subcontractor pricing scopes and trade spreadsheets. Assist with Subcontractor pricing and in the development of the detailed estimate. Participate in Architect/Owner meetings and prepare hard bids; assist in writing qualifications, assumptions, and value engineering concepts. Confirming the Document List. Field Operations Responsibilities

In your field rotation you will support Superintendents in daily jobsite operations, acting as Suffolk’s boots on the ground to manage trade partners and deliver a quality product on time and on budget. Gain basic knowledge of document control, shop drawings, and field condition verification. Assist with site logistics, Construction Management Plan, and safety requirements. Assist with project documentation including the Daily Report and Baseline Schedule updates. Support quality control, punch list process, and coordination with project teams. Project Management Responsibilities

In your project management rotation, you will support Project Managers in oversight and allocation of project resources, including coordinating trade partners, material and equipment procurement, and budget management. Assist with Change Orders, purchasing, back charges, and requisitions processing. Gain basic understanding of contract documents and owner requisition processes. Support submittal, procurement, and delivery processes; participate in project meetings; assist with developing O&M manuals and as-built warranty information. Qualifications

Recent or soon-to-be college graduate with a bachelor’s degree, equivalent military experience, or equivalent construction management experience. Previous co-op or internship experience is preferred. Necessary Attributes
