Overview
In collaboration with other systems and software engineers, the Senior Software Developer & Architect / Analyst will perform software development and integration of models into the distributed execution environment of IAMD M&S capabilities to include IDETS, IAMDSIM and ETESIM. This role may include updates and improvements to existing models of sensors, shooters, and BMC3 elements within the M&S tools. A focus area is supporting the development, testing, and maturation of the IDETS capability within the Integrated Defense Designer for the IAMD Battle Command System (IBCS). The position also provides technical assistance in preparation, conduct, post-processing, results plotting/formatting, review, and reporting of analysis using IAMD\'s M&S capabilities in support of the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) and Integrated Fires (IF) government Project Offices. Apply modern software engineering methods to the development and maintenance of IDETS, IAMDSIM, ETESIM environments, component models, and supporting software tools. Support setup and execution of specific tests using the IAMD M&S simulations (IDETS, IAMDSIM, ETESIM). Develop automated analysis tools (e.g., Python scripts, Excel, scripting languages) to process logged test results and compute metrics describing performance of modeled elements and systems. Prepare reports/presentations, conduct briefings of analysis results, methodology, and methods. Collaborate with the lab\'s software development and analysis teams; coordinate tasks with the task leader; report accomplishments, status, and plans weekly. Limited travel might be required. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A four-year Bachelor\'s degree from an ABET-accredited college in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science is required. It is desired that candidates have a minimum of 12 years of experience in software development, modeling, simulation, and analysis of missile defense systems. Proficiency with computers, software, and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office). Knowledge of Object-Oriented languages (preferably C, C++, Java) in a Linux-based environment. Experience with analysis tools and methods (e.g., Python, SQL scripting, Excel) is beneficial. Work Schedule and Location
Work will primarily be performed at the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering & Integration (S3I) Directorate, Bldg 5400, Redstone Arsenal during the normal M-F work week (08:00–17:00). Some flexibility in schedule is possible; some limited after-hours and weekend work might be required. Supervisory Responsibilities
