Overview
Applied Research Solutions is seeking candidates for the role of a Principal Data Links & Communication Engineer located at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA. The Aerial Networks Division (AFLCMC/HNA) primary mission acquires, fields, and sustains networks, integrated information systems, enterprise services, and applications to support the Global Information Grid (GIG) capabilities. These systems facilitate communication between land, naval, air, and space warfare forces. The Division develops capabilities for voice, video, and data networks focused on joint and coalition warfighter needs to enable worldwide net-centric operations.
Responsibilities
Provide knowledge and experience in the development, integration, testing, and deployment of Air Force systems and their associated data links, including definition of data link interoperability, interfaces, and verification and test assessment requirements.
Interface with Federal, DoD, USAF, United States Army, and Joint communities to ensure data link communications capability complies with applicable regulations and standards.
Support Developmental and Operational Test and Evaluation at sub-system and system levels; collaborate with Air Combat Command, USAF C2I Center, JITC, SPACEW, and other organizations managing C3 and encryption key distribution infrastructure.
Advise and assist the program Chief Engineer, IPT Leads, PMs, and joint test teams on performance, schedule, and cost issues related to planning, communications, and control.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Technical Experience
Must be a US citizen
Active Secret Security Clearance
5 years of experience in software design and software requirements development
Proficiency in C++ and Java programming languages and development frameworks
Proficiency in MBSE modeling, languages, and tools (DODAF, SysML, UML, Cameo)
Networking and embedded mission systems experience
Additional Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in development, integration, testing, and deployment of Air Force systems and data links, including data link interoperability, interfaces, and verification requirements.
Experience with interfacing with Federal, DoD, USAF, US Army, and Joint communities to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Experience in Developmental and Operational Test & Evaluation at sub-system and system levels; familiarity with C3 and encryption key distribution infrastructure.
Ability to advise program leadership on performance, schedule, and cost issues related to communications and control.
Perform other duties as assigned.
