McKinley Paper and Packaging Company - Wisconsin Mill is seeking an EHS Manager to join its team in Combined Locks, Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Mill is part of McKinley Paper and Packaging Company, a division of Bio Pappel. Bio Pappel is a privately held paper and packaging manufacturer headquartered in Mexico City. The Wisconsin Mill, McKinley’s largest paper mill, produces high quality recycled containerboard, natural kraft packaging, bag, and other types of paper. Responsibilities

Develops, implements, and oversees programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace by managing environmental hazards, preventing accidents, and adhering to regulations (e.g., OSHA and EPA). Directly manages two reports: the Safety Representative and the Environmental Manager. Develops and implements safety processes to meet injury reduction goals. Acts as the resource for employees on all aspects of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). Develops, implements, and audits procedures for compliance with Federal and State mandated rules and regulations. Maintains up-to-date OSHA and EPA required written programs and develops/conducts training as necessary. Develops policies to effectively handle emergencies such as tornadoes, fires, spills, and explosions. Assists in the investigation of injuries and near-accidents, recommends corrective actions, and tracks follow-up until completion. Analyzes past accident experience, identifies problem areas, and recommends corrective actions. Directs mill security activities and coordinates the mill Emergency Response Team. Provides communication and training to plant management; maintains communications, reporting, assessments, training programs, and guidance. Oversees environmental, health, and safety training to support and enhance the organization’s safety culture.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Skills & Experience: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with multiple stakeholders; demonstrated leadership experience.
