The Opportunity
As a leader in digital financial services, our customer and employee experiences run on data. Our analytics community supports data-driven decisions across Ally. We are seeking a passionate analytics professional with strong communication skills who will execute quantitative analysis and problem solving to develop in-depth business-relevant insights, scenario-based assumptions, and forward-looking analysis. The role utilizes data from databases, internal reports, market trends, and financial statements. It plays an integral role in strategy development and risk management, mentors developing analytics professionals, and collaborates with other analytics teams to build capability.
The Work Itself Independently interfacing with key stakeholders to provide timely and accurate analysis that drive business objectives and targets
Performs analysis to drive change within the business
Identify, quantify and propose risk/reward trade-offs of recommendations
Developing strategy and associated performance analysis that achieve business objectives and results
Apply knowledge of business and balanced judgment in interpretation of data
Provide analytical and data support in the design and review of strategy tests and current operations
Leading analytics projects which require technical sophistication and the ability to navigate ambiguity
Performing ad hoc analysis and quickly provide results and recommendations
Engage in a culture of Diversity and Inclusion
The Skills You Bring (Required) Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field - Finance, Economics, Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics
3+ years' experience in similar advanced analytics position
3+ years’ experience using SQL, Python, SAS or similar tools to mine and analyze large data sets
2+ years’ experience in building statistical models and deriving business strategies leveraging the models
2+ years’ experience developing business strategies based on data analyses
Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and execute small to medium scale projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present material
Work well within a team of analysts and collaborate with individuals with technical and non-technical backgrounds
Preferred Master’s degree in business or quantitative field
Experience in automotive or financial services industry
Experience with designing and implementing champion challenger strategies

Base Pay Range: $85,000 - $150,000 USD. An individual’s position in the range is determined by the specific role, scope, experience, education, and qualifications. Eligible for annual incentive plan.
