The Senior Analyst plays a key role in supporting the development and execution of testing and monitoring activities for the Insurance business line. The position is responsible for executing testing and monitoring of assigned areas. Execution of testing includes identifying and assessing process risks and controls, documenting narratives of business processes including the supporting IT applications, identifying and evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of controls, executing tests, documenting results, assessing test findings and making initial determination of reportable issues. During the process, completes work in accordance with Ally Financial testing and monitoring methodology. The Work Itself
Independently execute assigned testing activities, including test of controls and validation/transactional testing Perform first level review and coaching of testing performed by testing analysts Support program planning and execution Develop, execute and document testing in accordance with policies and procedures Utilize sound analytical and technical skills to provide consultation regarding emerging control practices Analyze business process and internal control documentation and develop written summaries of findings to review with Management Identify root causes and provide meaningful recommendations Perform ad hoc projects as assigned to assist in analyzing Ally's risk and control environment Work within defined plans and schedules Train/mentor testing analysts Maintain open line of communication with Testing and Business Line management, along with testing partners outside of the Business Line Skills
The Skills You Bring
3+ years' experience testing and monitoring financial controls/SOX, audit or risk management required Bachelors degree required or relevant experience can be used in lieu of degree (including military service) CPA or CIA designation is preferred Familiarity with Ally Insurance products or experience with F&I or P&C business preferred Demonstrated knowledge of internal control concepts and testing/auditing standards Knowledge of common risk management framework and methodologies Proficient at issue identification, problem-solving/troubleshooting, and issue escalation Ability to support multiple assignments and stakeholders and to self-prioritize workload, coordinate with teammates, and ensure deadlines are met Strong project management skills Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized Strong written and verbal communications skills High level of personal integrity, with the ability to handle confidential and otherwise sensitive matters professionally Strong understanding of risk and control concepts Ability to quickly learn new processes, systems and controls Experience in data analytics and analysis and demonstration of critical thinking skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $100,000 USD An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, scope and responsibilities, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
