What this position entails As an innovator in risk assessment, Milliman embraces technology and builds renowned data-driven tools that evaluate risk for a wide variety of applications. Nodal® is a comprehensive SaaS solution that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze structured and unstructured data to predict high-cost claims. The Nodal product team uses AI to extract data hidden in unstructured text, builds predictive models using cutting-edge machine learning techniques, and delivers insights in a web-based application. The Associate Actuary on this team plays an important role in supporting day-to-day activities, collaborating with internal teams and producing client studies and deliverables.
In this role, you’ll be expected to clearly communicate findings and insights to internal and external stakeholders through both written reports and presentations. Your contributions will directly support our product roadmap and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with evolving client needs and market dynamics.
What you will be doing
Perform client proof-of-concept studies and generate other recurring client deliverables
Collaborate with data scientists to complete analyses related to client questions and ad-hoc needs
Anticipate and address questions that will arise during business review
Actively engage in peer review processes, provide constructive feedback, and ensure the quality and consistency of work produced and reviewed
Balance numerous projects/tasks with varying deadlines and difficulty without sacrificing quality of work
What we need
Bachelor’s Degree
Actuarial accreditation (ASA or ACAS) in good standing
Minimum 3 years of experience in the actuarial profession
Proficiency with data analysis tools and techniques, including Excel, Python or R, and SQL

The overall salary range for this role is $92,200 – $188,160. For candidates residing in:
Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $101,420 – $172,480.
New York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco the salary range is $110,640 – $188,160.
All other locations the salary range is $92,200 – $156,800.
A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
