Overview

Associate II, Asset Management - Transaction Underwriting at Lument. The candidate will underwrite Agency (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) loan assumptions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of underwriting experience and are ready to take ownership of complex transactions while advancing in multifamily real estate finance. Responsibilities

Independently underwrite and submit Agency loan assumptions, including the ability to make sound credit recommendations Review due diligence materials for each transaction; quickly and accurately analyze and underwrite data, identify key underwriting issues and potential risks Produce well-organized underwriting assignments for multiple transactions simultaneously with minimal loan committee feedback Critically review, evaluate and approve all third-party reports Independently assess credit risk and recommend mitigation Communicate directly with multiple borrowers, counsel and Agency partners daily Maintain confidentiality and discretion in daily activities Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; coordinate with internal/external clients (agencies, borrowers, closers, bankers) Work under pressure with tight deadlines and shifting priorities Review Analyst work products related to due diligence, financial data analysis and underwriting narrative Identify efficiencies and implement process improvements Limited travel (approximately 5%) Education, Skills And Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; finance, real estate, economics, business and/or accounting preferred Direct experience with Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac multifamily underwriting Ability to work under pressure and manage varied workloads Excellent communication and organizational skills Required

Advanced knowledge of Commercial Real Estate and credit risk/mitigation terminology and practices Ability to analyze sponsor creditworthiness and real estate performance, providing concise risks, mitigations, and recommendations to loan committee Independent team player with strong project management and adaptability to changing priorities Knowledge of Agency systems (MAMP, DMS, CRT) Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Proficient in analyzing real estate financials (operating statements, rent rolls, balance sheets, SREOs) Understanding of Agency requirements relevant to loan assumptions Strong communication with multiple external audiences (borrowers, counsel, etc.) Annual base salary gross: $90,000 - $110,000 (NY only).
