Overview

An amazing client of Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented Real Estate Accountant to join their corporate accounting team. This role is a full-cycle accounting position, with a strong emphasis on reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close duties. The ideal candidate will bring similar industry experience, a corporate accounting mindset, curiosity to understand the “why” behind the numbers, and the ability to leverage technology to drive efficiency. Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close. Partner cross-functionally to understand the day-to-day operations of real estate management, including FTE allocations, chargebacks, payroll (including all-in costs), and expense trending. Support weekly payroll processes, including accruals and related reconciliations. Collaborate with corporate teams on budgeting processes, providing insight into variances, GL clearing, and incentive accruals. Analyze profitability drivers within the business, field questions from managers, and provide clear, accurate financial explanations. Identify opportunities to maximize reimbursements and improve overall financial results. Provide support for year-end close activities, audits, and compliance requirements. Use technology and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) to streamline reporting and analysis. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3–5 years of corporate accounting experience, ideally with exposure to real estate, property management, or related industries. Strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting, reconciliations, and month/year-end close processes. Advanced Excel and comfort with accounting/ERP systems; willingness to learn and adopt new technologies. Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain financial results to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying process improvements.
