3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Direct message the job poster from HJ Sims High Yield Municipal Institutional Salesperson: The High Yield Institutional Municipal Sales Representative will have a deep understanding of municipal bond markets, strong sales acumen, and a collaborative and risk-focused mindset. Strong analytical and communication skills are needed along with a passion for fixed income, client engagement and HJ Sims product offerings. We are looking for a candidate who is driven, client-focused and innovative. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: acquire, develop and maintain relationships with institutional clients including pension funds, insurance companies, family offices and investment advisors Generate revenue in a team-based environment: identify sales opportunities and help client with trade ideas. Stay informed on municipal market trends, credit ratings and developments and economic factors affecting the market. Provide clients with timely market insight with a deep understanding of yields, spreads and other metrics to support client decision-making. Collaborate with trading desks and research teams to identify opportunities and execute transactions effectively. Achieve new client acquisition, sales, and revenue targets. Educate the clients on new primary market financings and partner internally with investment banking team Other Responsibilities Support and promote the Firm’s vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures. Must have excellent analysis, observation and decision-making skills. Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and members of the business and civic community. Individual should be able to work under high pressure situations and then should remain composed. Provide a strong, compassionate and visible leadership, to foster positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects. Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures. Other duties or licenses as assigned. Qualifications, Education and Experience Recommendations Must hold a Series 7 and 63/65 License and be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Five or more years of experience in a fixed-income sales, finance or business background, particularly on the quantitative side Stay informed on municipal market trends, credit rating, and developments and economic factors affecting the market. Proficient in Bloomberg Terminal, TOMs and Microsoft Office suite of products. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision. Strong communication and networking skills. Strong client relationship management. Impeccable research, quantitative and analytical skills, especially in explaining market events. Ability to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments. Must be willing and able to travel as needed for meetings with clients, centers of influence and for continued education and training.
