Overview
Corrections Counselor 1 - SCI Cambridge Springs position with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This role involves direct interaction with inmates and providing counseling services to support rehabilitation. Responsibilities
Provide individual counseling and casework services to inmates at SCI Cambridge Springs. Assist with employment opportunities and connect inmates to community resources. Maintain accurate records and reports for the assigned caseload. Participate in parole planning to facilitate reentry into society. Contribute to the rehabilitation and reintegration process and have a positive impact on inmates’ lives. Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55 Telework: Not eligible Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases Further communication regarding the position will be sent via email; check email (including spam/junk folders) Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years and six months as a corrections officer, and 18 college credits in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field; or A bachelor’s degree in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 18 college credits in the listed fields. Applicants will be considered to have met educational requirements when within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits. Special Requirement: Obtain Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) and Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) certification within two months of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment. Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA. Must meet PA residency requirements. Must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirement: Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements. How to Apply
