Information Systems Security Engineer, Senior

Location: Columbia, MD Overview

ISSE position requiring collaboration with a team to assess and implement information security across networks, computing, and enclave environments, in support of DoD RMF and IA standards. Responsibilities

Perform and review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance with Information Assurance standards and regulations. Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis; establish system security designs. Design, develop, implement, and/or integrate IA and security systems and components for networking, computing, and enclave environments with multiple data protection requirements. Incorporate information assurance into systems deployed to operational environments and assist architects and developers in implementing appropriate security functionality. Build security architectures and enforce trusted relationships among external systems and architectures. Assess and mitigate security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle; contribute to security planning, risk analysis, and risk management activities. Review certification and accreditation documentation, ensuring completeness and compliance. Apply system security engineering expertise across design processes, lifecycle, information domains, cryptography, system integration, risk management, and testing; support security authorization activities per RMF and NIST RMF processes. Qualifications

TS/SCI with Polygraph at time of application Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security/Systems Engineering, or related discipline; four years of ISSE experience may substitute for a degree LEVEL 2 ISSE: 14 years of ISSE experience on programs/contracts of similar scope LEVEL 3 ISSE: 20 years of ISSE experience on programs/contracts of similar scope Experience reviewing network diagrams and device configurations; working knowledge of TLS security Experience with RMF review processes for unclassified/classified networks and countermeasure recommendations Strong background in crypto, network, and cloud computing; ability to create security assessment reports; strong writing and leadership abilities Experience as a security engineering representative on engineering teams for secure networking, computing, and enclave environments and IA architectures Knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structures Ability to interact with customers and project teams; support trusted relationships among external systems Supports security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management; identifies security requirements for government data handling Ability to design system or network solutions across multiple enclaves with differing protection/classification requirements Ability to propose system-level security solutions Certifications

DoD 8570.01-M compliance with IASAE Level 2 CISSP Certification required Application note
