Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. 1st shift: Monday – Friday; 7am-3:30pm. Location: Berea, OH. A $3,000 sign on bonus is offered. What You’ll Do

Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (4 & 5 axis mills and lathes, multi-tasking machines and SWISS machines) to fabricate metal parts to precise specifications. Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and part specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations. Apply knowledge of material properties and CNC programming to design and execute machining operations that meet exacting standards. Test and verify CNC programs for accuracy and make necessary adjustments. Operate multiple machines simultaneously as required to meet production goals. Start and monitor machine operations, detect and troubleshoot malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions. Adjust machine controls and document changes according to company procedures. Make offset adjustments and perform routine maintenance to ensure dimensional integrity and machine performance. Complete accurate and timely documentation of set-ups and maintain set-up sheets. Review blueprint travelers for accuracy and completeness. Perform all duties in compliance with safety procedures and company quality standards. Maintain regular onsite attendance as required for operation of equipment.

Levels

Level I – Entry Level:

Applies basic principles, performs routine tasks, and works under close supervision while building foundational skills. Level II – Intermediate Level:

Demonstrates growing expertise, performs a wider range of tasks, works with moderate supervision, and shows increased independence. Level III – Advanced/Specialist Level:

Recognized as highly competent, performs full scope of responsibilities, may mentor others and work independently.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience:

Completion of a certificate or diploma in CNC programming, machining, or related field is preferred. Alternatively, a minimum of three (3) years of direct CNC programming experience using Mastercam or similar software may be substituted. Technical and Computer Skills:

Proficient with CAD/CAM software for creating, editing, and interpreting part designs and machining instructions; comfortable with various design/manufacturing software tools. Certifications:

Journeyman-level certification in CNC programming and/or machining is highly desirable.

Demonstrated safety awareness and ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and procedure manuals. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address issues with multiple variables within standardized processes.

Specialized Knowledge and Training

Safety training relevant to machine operation and manufacturing environments. Basic machine maintenance knowledge to ensure equipment reliability. Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions.

Physical & Working Conditions

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds as needed. Frequent walking within the facility. Work near moving mechanical parts; exposure to moderate to loud noise with PPE provided as needed.
