What You Will Do

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep knowledge of at least one OS (Windows, Linux, etc.) to extensively design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain both Linux and Windows Servers, Desktops, and the Virtual Environment of a large-scale enterprise network operating 24x7x365. Collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including engineers, software developers, systems administration, storage, networking, tools, and high-performance computing teams, to resolve complex infrastructure and integration challenges. Ensure strict alignment with relevant regulatory and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., DFARS, RMF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework) in close partnership with cybersecurity teams to consistently maintain continuous compliance. Operate in a fast-paced, fully on-site role within a DoD closed area, providing critical support for mission-critical systems and environments that demand near 24x7x365 uptime. Provide comprehensive support for both planned and emergent tasks, which may include occasional responsibilities outside of standard working hours and travel up to 10% as required to support program objectives. Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification) within 6 months of the start date. Start date will be set after DoD issues an interim clearance. Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree and 3 years of direct experience. The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date is required (US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance). Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Experience with secure system configurations, system hardening, application settings, and configuring customized user experiences. Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with ESXi and VMWare virtualization technologies. Strong leadership, teamwork, communication (written and oral), collaboration, and organizational skills. Experience with ADDS, DFS, WDS, WSUS, MECM/SCCM, MDT, PXE, PKI, Group Policy, Kerberos, Microsoft IIS, SQL, Skype, and Exchange. Experience with RHEL, Linux and Windows integration tools (Centrify, Samba, SSSD, NIS), and with virtualization technologies including VMware (vCenter, vSphere, Horizon, ESXi, vSAN, VDS), Nutanix (AOS, Prism, CVM), and/or other virtual computing methods. Experience with storage systems such as NETAPP, and with VDI technologies including Horizon, Profile Unity, and NVIDIA GPU virtualization. Experience with monitoring and compliance assessment tools, vulnerability scanning, and auditing tools (ACAS, Splunk, Nessus, SCAP, STIG, Ivanti, Nagios, SolarWinds), and familiarity with security frameworks (CMMC, NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF). Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Perl, Bash, Python, and C Languages), including BASH scripting for automation, and a strong understanding of networking concepts. What We Offer

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
