Raytheon is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Dual Band Radar Software Team located in Tewksbury, MA. We develop software in C++ and Java utilizing agile software development methods.
What You Will Do:
- Develop robust and scalable software in C++ running Linux or UNIX operating systems using Agile development methods.
- Design, implement, debug and problem solve Radar Software Applications while providing feedback to other team members.
- Work in a team environment to understand end-user requirements and translate these into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.
- Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Experience with C++ and Java application code development and Linux/Unix
- Experience developing software in a team-based development environment
- Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies (functional, integration, regression, performance, etc.) and best practices.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools.
- Experience with DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System) or other requirements traceability tool.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively diagnose and address issues.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Raytheon considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
