As a CT Technologist, produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate equipment, and position the patient to capture appropriate images. Perform duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation to detect pathology. Operate equipment safely and maintain ALARA standards while performing procedures. Coordinate and respond to questions regarding scheduling, patient information, networking and informatics. Document in charts and ensure electronic data is sent to the appropriate destination. Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation. Provide copies of imaging studies. Perform routine, emergent, invasive and special procedures. Abide by all regulations that apply to state and national standards. Minimum qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RT(R)) in good standing Certification in Computed Tomography (RT(R) CT (ARRT)) within one year of hire Current Florida state licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association Knowledge of federal and state regulations Preferred qualifications
Two years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting Physical requirements and safety
Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace, prioritize multiple tasks, and collaborate with the healthcare team; ability to problem solve and manage stress. Special Demands: Self-motivated; hours may exceed eight per day based on patient needs. Physical: Sitting and standing; potential for lifting or carrying up to 100 lbs with assistance as required. Fine motor skills: Finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for computer work. Personal Protective Equipment
