Contract Staff Accountant . The mission of this position is to assist the team in developing best-in-class processes within a control-oriented environment. Duties involve researching, analyzing, verifying and reconciling transactions. The candidate should be confident in their knowledge base and capable of performing duties with minimal training and supervision. The successful candidate will grasp tasks quickly and add value to the accounting close cycle. The candidate must be a quick learner, extremely detail-oriented with a strong knowledge of accounting principles and highly proficient in Excel. We seek self-starters who understand good processes, have strong accounting fundamentals, and are coachable and eager to contribute. Education:
Bachelor’s Degree REQUIRED Experience:
3+ years in accounting; Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills Essential Job Functions
Fixed Asset Management:
Maintain and update the fixed asset schedule, including posting depreciation entries. Customer Credit Processing:
Accurately post customer credits according to instructions from the Senior Accountant. Month-End Closing Support:
Participate in the month-end closing process, including journal entry preparation and related tasks. Account Reconciliation:
Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to Accounts Receivable and other designated General Ledger accounts. Variance Analysis:
Research variances in key account balances and provide explanations for discrepancies between actuals and forecasts to management. Journal Entry Preparation:
Prepare journal entries for specific transactions, such as bank fees and accruals. Collaboration:
Support Senior Accountants and contribute to team efforts as needed. Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned, supporting the overall function of the team. Skill Requirements and Performance Criteria
Accounting Knowledge:
Strong understanding of GAAP principles, accounting transactions, and financial reporting. Cross-Functional Experience:
Experience working with multiple business units or shared services is a plus. Self-Starter:
Highly motivated individual who completes tasks accurately, efficiently, and diligently. Communication Skills:
Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with a positive attitude toward customers and colleagues. Data Management:
Experience in data cleanup and effective problem-solving. Process Improvement:
Ability to assist in designing solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team. Technical Proficiency:
Strong aptitude for automated financial systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus. Complex Operations Experience:
