Under the direction of the Director of Student Services/Special Education and site administration, the Resource Specialist/Learning Center Teacher provides consultation, resource information and materials development as needed to address instructional objectives established for students for early intervention, as well as within the IEP process. The Resource Specialist Teacher provides: 1) direct individual and small group instruction both within the classroom and on a pull-out basis to support the regular or other special class instructional programs in which students may be enrolled; 2) higher tier, short-term interventions for students at risk but not identified as having special needs, using a process and criteria developed by the District; and 3) student assessments. The Resource Specialist also provides case management, including coordinating attendees for IEP meetings, communication with home, finalizing IEP paperwork, etc. Caseload and the continuum of services in the Least Restrictive Environment are dependent on site assignment, but in compliance with State mandates. Responsibilities
Provide direct instruction and pull-out support as part of the instructional team to assist students eligible for Special Education services. Deliver higher-tier, short-term interventions for at-risk students per District procedures. Conduct and participate in student assessments and contribute to IEP-related activities. Coordinate IEP meetings and communicate with families; manage IEP documentation and related communications as required. Requirements / Qualifications
California Education Specialist Credential with Mild/Moderate Disabilities Authorization or equivalent Special Education Credential; Autism Authorization required CLAD Certificate or EL Authorization required Letter of interest, online application, current resume, three letters of recommendation, copy of certificate(s), CLAD certificate or authorization resume About the Employer
