Overview Mid-Career - Environmental Remediation Engineer. Primary location: US-WA-Seattle. Additional locations: US-WA-Bainbridge Island, US-WA-Wenatchee, US-WA-Bellingham, US-WA-Yakima. Geosyntec Consultants, an earth science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking an Environmental Remediation Engineer to join our Environmental Practice in the Seattle, Bellingham, Wenatchee, Yakima, or Bainbridge Island, WA office. Our Environmental Practice tackles challenges on a variety of complex environmental projects throughout the Pacific Northwest including environmental site assessments, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, property cleanup and urban redevelopments, remedial design engineering, cost recovery/allocation/mediation support, and landfill system monitoring and optimization. You can expect an abundance of variety, strong mentorship, and opportunities for expanded responsibility and career growth. This role focuses on technical project delivery and environmental project management of investigation and remediation projects, leading the design and implementation of environmental due diligence, remedial investigations, and cleanup actions on known or suspected contaminated sites. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to apply environmental consulting strategies for clients that include attorneys, landowners, public agencies, engineers, and contractors. This is a long-term, career-track position aimed at growing your own practice through effective project delivery and client development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and partners to plan and execute work on a variety of environmental investigation and remediation projects.

Perform task, project, and client management under the guidance of senior technical experts.

Manage project teams that can include junior field staff, writing and editing staff, technical subject matter experts, and subcontractors to meet project needs.

Conduct project scoping and budgeting and manage project budget and schedule.

Apply technical expertise to environmental project problem solving to meet client needs and project objectives.

Complete technical data evaluation and write reports.

Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or project sites and other business locations as needed.

Education and Licensure

Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, or related engineering discipline; (required)

Master's degree in environmental engineering, or related engineering discipline; (preferred)

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification (required) or Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

At least 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)

Relevant coursework or experience in contaminant fate and transport.

Knowledge of state and federal cleanup laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance for cleanup of contaminated sites.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

Clear and professional writing and verbal communication skills.

Excellent client management skills.

Ability to work on teams and interface with clients, attorneys, and regulators to execute projects.

Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Compensation ranges are provided in good faith for the specified locations: Wenatchee, Yakima, Bellingham, Bainbridge Island, and Seattle. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set, and location. The typical base salary range is one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges by location: Wenatchee/Yakima: $85,340–$110,940; Bellingham: $89,605–$116,485; Bainbridge Island/Seattle: $93,875–$122,040.
