Overview

Senior Environmental Remediation Engineer to join Geosyntec Consultants’ Environmental Practice in Seattle, Bellingham, Wenatchee, Yakima, or Bainbridge Island, WA. Our Environmental Practice tackles challenges on a variety of complex environmental projects throughout the Pacific Northwest including environmental site assessments, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, property cleanup and urban redevelopments, remedial design engineering, cost recovery/allocation/mediation support, and landfill system monitoring and optimization. In this role, you will lead technical project work, promote strategic project management and mentorship, and assist in key sales and business development efforts. Your primary focus will be on environmental investigation and remediation projects, leading the development and implementation of environmental due diligence, remedial investigations, and cleanup actions on known or suspected contaminated sites. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team and have opportunities to enhance environmental consulting strategies for clients such as attorneys, landowners, public agencies, engineers, and contractors. Locations: Seattle, WA; Bellingham, WA; Bainbridge Island, WA; Wenatchee, WA; Yakima, WA. This is a non-remote, regular full-time position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability. Evaluation of contaminated sites and development of remediation approaches, including feasibility studies, cleanup action plans, engineering design reports, and remediation design plans. Leading the development of work plans, data evaluation, and cost-benefit analyses. Working with and leading multidisciplinary teams, including data scientists, geologists, risk assessors, CAD designers, and modelers. Implementation of remedial pilot tests and systems, including vendor selection, logistical coordination, permitting, and supervision of field teams. Preparing and reviewing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals. Fieldwork responsibilities as needed, including site visits, multi-media environmental sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction. Mentoring, guiding, and motivating early career staff in project performance, cost and schedule management, client expectations, and career development. Fostering trust-based relationships with clients, regulatory personnel, and other project stakeholders. Assisting in business development by securing repeat business and winning new clients. Drive personal and company vehicles to project sites and other locations as needed. Education and Licensure

Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related engineering discipline (required). Master’s degree in environmental engineering or related discipline (preferred). Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (required). Skills, Experience and Qualifications

At least 8 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required). Relevant coursework or experience in contaminant fate and transport. Knowledge of state and federal cleanup laws, regulations, and guidance for contaminated site cleanup. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Clear and professional writing and verbal communication skills. Excellent client management skills. Ability to work on teams and interface with clients, attorneys, and regulators to execute projects. Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required). This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Compensation ranges are provided in good faith for the specified locations and may vary with education, experience, skill set, and location.
