R-22900**Job Title: Manager – Quality SHEQ****Location:** Augusta, ME (General Office)**Work type:** OfficeThe salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from **$$114,332** to **$142,916.****Job Summary**Lead and manage the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) team supporting capital projects from initiation through closure. Provide strategic oversight and subject matter expertise to ensure compliance with ISO standards and continuous improvement across all SHEQ domains. Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to embed SHEQ principles throughout project lifecycles, ensuring safe, high-quality, and environmentally responsible execution. Maintain and enhance the Quality and Environmental Management Systems to support ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.**Responsibilities:*** **SHEQ Oversight, Governance & Environmental Compliance:**
+ Lead the SHEQ team in supporting electric and gas capital projects, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards are upheld throughout design and construction.
+ Define SHEQ requirements for all programs and oversee contractor compliance with AVANGRID expectations.
+ Ensure effective documentation and reporting of SHEQ performance across all projects.
+ Support resolution of SHEQ non-conformities and incidents, ensuring timely corrective actions.
+ Provide guidance and oversight for environmental project requirements, including surveys, licenses, spill assessments, and compliance with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) regulations.
+ Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations and facilitate environmental risk mitigation strategies.* **Quality & Environmental Systems Management:**
+ Implement, maintain, and improve ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified management systems.
+ Oversee quality gate conformity, change management, lessons learned, audits, and risk management processes.
+ Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure successful recertification.
+ Monitor quality inspection programs to ensure execution meets defined standards.* **Training & Communication:**
+ Develop and deliver SHEQ training programs and awareness initiatives.
+ Establish and monitor SHEQ KPIs to drive performance improvements.
+ Communicate effectively across all organizational levels to promote SHEQ culture and compliance.* **Team Leadership:**
+ Lead and develop SHEQ specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
+ Provide strategic direction and performance feedback to ensure team effectiveness**Required Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, environment, or quality-related field.* 5–7 years of relevant SHEQ experience, including managing complex initiatives and/or teams.* Strong knowledge of SHEQ processes in large-scale transmission, distribution, and substation projects.* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data visualization.* Excellent oral and written communication skills.* Proven ability to lead teams and work collaboratively in a matrixed environment.* Experience with regulatory filings and approvals at federal, state, and local levels.* Demonstrated ability using data and analytics to diagnose trends and link to business performance outcomes.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Expertise in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.* Auditing experience.**Behavioral Competencies:**• Develop self & others• Empower to grow• Collaborate and share• Be a role model• Focus to achieve results• Be agile#LI-NB1
