General Purpose
The EHS Manager will lead the Environmental, Health, and Safety function to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and customer ESG requirements. Serving as the ISO 14001 Management Representative for the facility, this role provides strategic oversight and hands-on management to drive a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs to ensure full regulatory and corporate compliance. Collaborate with leadership, EHS staff, and employees to prevent occupational injuries, mitigate environmental risks, and promote continuous EHS performance improvement. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and customer requirements, including oversight of Title V air permits, RCRA VSQG, DSW-IDD, SPCC, SWP3, and ISO 14001 standards. Manage EHS staff, consultants, and contractors to achieve project and compliance goals. Lead the Safety Committee and promote Associate involvement in safety initiatives. Partner with the Safety Engineer and on-site Nurse to investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and manage workers’ compensation programs. Support environmental operations, including waste management and wastewater treatment. Coordinate industrial hygiene assessments and recommend control measures as needed. Maintain the Integrated Contingency Plan and provide emergency response training. Develop, deliver, and track all required EHS training programs. Report on EHS metrics and communicate performance updates to leadership and staff regularly. Participate in the design of safe and ergonomic equipment and workstations alongside engineering and production teams. Manage annual EHS budget, including expense tracking and capital planning. Drive the development of new policies and procedures to address emerging risks and operational needs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline, or equivalent work experience Minimum 5 years of EHS program coordination in a manufacturing setting Strong working knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, ISO standards) Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong communication and coaching abilities; capable of influencing at all organizational levels Experience with ISO 14001, IATF 16949, or ISO 9001 compliance frameworks preferred
