Licensed Veterinary Technician - ER role at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Seattle, WA. The hospital has a busy Emergency and Critical Care department. BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work Days. LVT Pay : $25.60 - $49.15 per hour. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. The location covers parking in Downtown Seattle and bus passes. This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system. Competitive shift differential pay is offered for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 shift differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 shift differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 shift differential

As An Emergency Veterinary Technician, You Will
Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases as they arrive, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique and patient positioning. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Calculate medical dosages and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations. Proficiently perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Mentor and train other co-workers. Demonstrate patience and empathy to address client concerns.
