Overview
Pharmacy Technician II - Infusion at UCSF Health. The Pharmacy Technician II provides pharmaceutical care to patients at UCSF campuses (Parnassus, Mission Bay, Mount Zion) and specialized services to researchers. All Pharmacy Technicians are accountable to the supervising or operating pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of patients. The Pharmacy Technician II performs activities related to medication preparation, inventory management, and computer entries of prescriptions.

Responsibilities
Provide pharmaceutical care to patients across UCSF campuses and support researchers as needed.
Perform medication preparation, inventory management, and computer entries of prescriptions.
Operate under the supervision of a pharmacist who is legally responsible for patient care.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Completion of a recognized/accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program (includes hands-on training during externship), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician in hospitals or health care, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
At least two years of IV additives experience.
Knowledge of USP 797/800 standards, hazardous and aseptic IV techniques for sterile compounding.
Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint; Pyxis machine; and Primary Engineering Control (PEC).
Licensing
Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy and in good standing.
Salary and Benefits The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range is dependent on factors including work experience and internal equity. For represented positions, placement within the range follows the collective bargaining agreement. Salary range: $36.05 - $44.91 hourly.
