Senior Director, Patient Access Lead (East & West) – BioSpace Intellia Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Director, Patient Access Lead to establish and lead a critical function in preparing for the successful launch of lonvo-z, our groundbreaking investigational therapy in phase 3 for hereditary angioedema (HAE). This is a career-defining opportunity to lead the first-ever commercialization of an in vivo one-time CRISPR-based therapy, guiding a field team and patient access function to ensure site readiness and patient access from an access perspective. Patient Access / Field Reimbursement Leadership

Build and lead a high-performing field reimbursement and patient access team to proactively support providers and patients in overcoming access and reimbursement challenges. Develop strategic solutions to address coverage, coding, and payment issues related to lonvo-z. Work closely with Strategic Account Leads, Payer Account Team, Hub, and case managers to develop strategies to mitigate barriers to access. Lead the team through center profiling to assess access readiness for activation and launch. Work with payers, providers, and patient advocacy groups to ensure lonvo-z is accessible and affordable. Contribute to the creation of reimbursement tools, resources, and educational materials to support field teams and provider partners. Contribute to the development of patient access manager training materials and onboarding of the newly created team. Access and Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the primary liaison with key external stakeholders, including healthcare administrators, infusion centers, and reimbursement personnel, to foster collaboration and address barriers. Partner with market access and policy leads to monitor and respond to changes in reimbursement environments and healthcare policies impacting lonvo-z. Advocate for patients and providers by addressing challenges related to patient access and site readiness, ensuring a patient-centric approach to implementation. Supervisory Responsibilities

Recruit and hire high-caliber talent by leveraging expansive networks. Manage and mentor the patient access team, fostering accountability, innovation, and collaboration. Set clear goals and KPIs for the team to ensure successful execution of objectives. Provide regular updates to executive leadership on site readiness, reimbursement challenges, and access-related progress. About You

Deep understanding of infusion-based therapies, site operations, reimbursement dynamics, billing & coding, and payer dynamics in the U.S. healthcare system. Ability to navigate CGT reimbursement complexities such as single-case agreements. Proven ability to develop and implement access site readiness strategies and resolve reimbursement challenges. Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing high-performing teams. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively across internal teams and external stakeholders. Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others across a diverse stakeholder landscape. Results-driven self-starter with accountability, performance orientation, and cross-functional collaboration. Organized and adaptable, with ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities. Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations and payer reimbursement policies. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for complex access and operational challenges. Collaborate with human resources to attract, hire, develop, and motivate top talent to ensure high performance standards. Proven track record of partnering cross-functionally to establish a new function and organizational capabilities. Experience managing team budgets and resourcing. Proven ability to introduce novel approaches that accelerate delivery of innovative therapies. Willingness to travel as needed to engage with sites, field teams, and stakeholders (up to 60%). Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, healthcare administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred (MBA, PharmD). 10+ years of experience in access site readiness, field reimbursement, or market access in the biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry, including 3-5 years in field reimbursement leadership. Prior US launch experience required. Experience with cell and gene therapy or other highly specialized/one-time therapies. Experience in competitive rare diseases preferred; experience in HAE preferred. Covid-19 Vaccination Policy
