Join Takeda as the Oncology Regional Director, Solid Tumors - Northwest Region. This role leads a team of seven Oncology Territory Managers (OTMs) for the Solid Tumor Team and is responsible for driving performance across two brands (one for metastatic colorectal cancer and the other for lung cancer) in the Northwest region, which includes parts of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Oregon, northern California, Idaho, northern Nevada, and Alaska. The successful candidate must reside in the region.
About the Role The Regional Director will drive regional strategy and execution, enabling strong business outcomes and engagement with key stakeholders across Marketing, Medical Affairs, Patient Value & Access, and Learning & Development.
Responsibilities
Obtain commitments from OTMs to ensure the sales strategy and plan succeed in the assigned territory
Lead the development and execution of major programs to meet sales objectives
Ensure OTMs conduct business planning, customer relationship management, reporting, and tracking of execution metrics
Lead regional training and communication efforts to keep the team informed and engaged
Ensure compliance with laws and regulations concerning interactions with healthcare professionals and dissemination of literature
Drive results, set goals, manage resources, and achieve regional plans with limited supervision
Build and maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Medical Affairs, PVA, Learning & Development)
Recruit, manage, train, and motivate direct reporting staff in line with company policies
Accountable for regional business acumen, analysis of trends, and opportunity identification
Execute marketing plans and drive for results; deliver business reviews
Collaborate with Business Insights and Analytics to understand regional opportunities
Develop and execute strategic and tactical account plans, map stakeholders, and define value propositions with Marketing and PVA
Gains formulary and protocol access for Takeda Oncology products; coordinate account management at larger outlets
Develop relationships with executives, operations, financial, and pharmacy stakeholders; engage KOLs and clinical experts to inform therapeutic processes at account level
Identify key stakeholders and align accounts with organizational priorities; develop cross-functional plans and launches for large accounts
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
8+ years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with 3+ years in Oncology
3+ years of Oncology sales leadership experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage a geographic region
Residence near a major airport
Proven track record of successful business planning and execution
Strong relationships in the assigned region and documented sales success
High science aptitude with coaching and training ability
Growth mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and strong Influencing skills
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong communication and collaboration
Commercial, regulatory, and technical awareness
Ability to travel 50–60% of the time
Valid US Driver’s License in good standing
Preferred
4+ years of leadership experience
3+ years of direct oncology leadership experience
Master’s degree
Proven ability to lead others by example and through direct authority
Travel
Approximately 50–60% travel, including some evening programs and weekend conferences
Location & Compensation Location: Colorado – Virtual; other listed locations may be virtual as per policy. Base salary range: $204,800 - $281,600 per year. The actual salary offered depends on qualifications, experience, and location.
