We are seeking an experienced

Data Engineer

to design, optimize, and maintain robust data pipelines that support reporting, analytics, and healthcare operations. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on expertise in

Azure Data Factory

and

Azure SQL Server , with a strong understanding of healthcare data and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA. This role is critical in scaling our data infrastructure and ensuring the integrity and performance of our data systems. Location & eligibility:

Local to the Greater Phoenix Area preferred. May consider fully remote candidates, but local candidates are preferred. US Citizens or Green Card Holders only; must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship or transfer. Key Responsibilities

Data Integration: Design, build, and maintain scalable, automated data pipelines to support reporting, data visualization, advanced analytics, and machine learning initiatives. Data ingestion from diverse sources (databases, APIs, flat files, third‑party vendors) into a centralized data lake and warehouse. Develop high‑performance SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data across environments. Implement data validation, cleansing, and monitoring to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Database Optimization

Provide level 3 support for database design and architecture, including review and approval of pull requests and maintenance of Dev/Test environments. Optimize performance through indexing strategies, query tuning, and schema/data model improvements. Collaborate with development teams to standardize DB tools (e.g., SSDT) and implement version control for database code. Production Support

Support Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory infrastructure with monitoring, performance tuning, security, and backup/recovery solutions. Implement and maintain high‑availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions. Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience in developing data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using Azure Data Factory and related Azure data services. 4+ years of experience with Azure SQL or SQL Server, including database design, development, implementation, and performance monitoring. Strong expertise in SQL query optimization, indexing, and schema design. Experience in production support, including monitoring, security, and disaster recovery practices. Preferred Skills

Experience implementing HA/DR for Azure SQL Databases. Familiarity with Microsoft Entra, RBAC, and data encryption/security models. Experience with SSDT and version control for database code. Understanding of data modeling, warehousing concepts, and familiarity with Azure Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric. Experience with Python and Azure Functions for advanced data processing.
