Senior Multi-Disciplined Engineer role at Raytheon, onsite in Tucson, AZ. This position is part of the Materials Engineering Laboratory and involves solving engineering problems through chemical analysis of various materials, including adhesives, polymers, tapes, composites, metals, and other production materials. Note: This is not a pure research position. The role requires delivering engineering solutions within short timeframes (days to weeks) and working closely with a multi-disciplinary team. The work is physically demanding and may require lifting up to 22 lbs. The candidate will join a multi-disciplined team and collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and suppliers. The Senior Multi-Disciplined Engineer job is located in Tucson, AZ and is onsite. Responsibilities

Perform chemical analysis on various production materials and assess materials against specifications or conduct root cause failure analysis. Utilize instrumental analysis techniques (spectroscopy, chromatography, thermal analysis) to support investigations (e.g., FTIR, DSC, DMA, TGA, GCMS, HPLC, GPC, etc.). Manage and coordinate multiple tasks within set schedules while spending significant time in the laboratory. Provide engineering solutions within short timeframes and communicate findings through concise technical reports. Collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and suppliers to drive problem resolution. Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; without a degree, 9+ years of experience. An advanced degree may substitute for additional experience. Experience in Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis (e.g., Infrared Spectroscopy, Chromatography, Thermal Analysis such as FTIR, DSC, DMA, TGA, GCMS, HPLC, GPC). Qualifications We Prefer

Ability to troubleshoot analytical instrument problems, perform analyses, and interpret data. Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, teamwork, and time-management skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Material Science and Polymer Science understanding with knowledge of material testing/analysis (hardness, adhesion, sample preparation, cross-section, etc.). Familiarity with material safety data sheets and Military Specifications. Experience leading and completing large-scale multi-disciplined scientific projects, including failure analyses. Ability to write concise technical reports summarizing analyses. Current/Active DoD clearance or SSBI. Proven ability to work with diverse teams and adapt to different work and conflict-resolution styles. What We Offer

Onsite role definition: Onsite employees work primarily onsite, including production and maintenance. Applicants may be asked to attend select interview steps in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of onsite/hybrid/remote designation. Salary range: 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD.
