Morristown, TN core facility; involved in new product introductions and dedicated to providing the best core (visual, dimensional) to the next operation (wax injection) through tooling and process development, with strong interactions with product engineers, tool build and maintenance resources, material process owners and shop floor resources. Responsibilities

Manage and direct the New Product Introduction (NPI) initiative ensuring ceramic core development in accordance with overall project timelines, budget, and quoted standards. Lead initiatives to achieve product yield improvements, variation reduction, and cost reduction goals related to the manufacture of ceramic cores/parts. Direct and manage activities regarding product tool/part designs and standards. Support evaluation and implementation of cost and product improvements and drive problem solving activities. Establish professional working relationships with the engineering team at each casting facility and promote effective communication regarding product status and issues. Provide guidance and mentoring NPI core engineers in the department and support as a resource for other departments and generic improvement activities. Develop scrap and labor costs for cost modeling. Define, solicit and review quotes for tooling and cores. Define and implement control plans and FMEA per customer requirements; collect, analyze and prepare statistical data per control plan. Initiate, prepare and validate dimensional qualification packages to meet customer requirements. Plan and formulate new product introduction engineering programs within area of assigned responsibility. Implement and review part, tooling and process design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements and related specifications. Support activities concerned with technical development, customer issues, cost reduction programs and in resolving engineering design and test problems. Prepare interim and completion project reports, as necessary. Interface with production personnel regarding all processing requirements. Interact with suppliers and customers on technical issues. Perform process quality investigations, as required. Develop and implement process improvements and cost reductions. Design tools and fixtures pertinent to processing. Generate material requisitions to initiate procurement. Translate customer requirements into usable work instructions, interfaces with the casting plant on technical issues. Assemble data packages (PM301) for casting engineer approval. Specify processing and generate work instructions. Actively pursue elimination of waste, improvement of equipment reliability and efficiency, and reduction of operating costs. Employ statistical methods as necessary. Continuously improve the performance of job-related responsibilities. Coordinate and develop stable, high yielding processes. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum 3 years experience as a ceramic core engineer in the investment casting industry. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software. Ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD models. Strong organizational skills. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering. Previous experience as a ceramic core engineer in the investment casting industry is highly desired. Leadership experience with technical support staff. Fluency with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX. Experience in new process control development and product start ups. Project management experience. Good verbal communication skills. Proven problem-solving skills using sound fundamentals and history of trials/execution of improvements. Ability to effectively work/communicate as part of a project team. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and activities. Able to work in a self-directed or team environment with good organizational skills. Knowledge of Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and scientific methods for problem solving. About Us
