Polysomnographic Technologist Job Summary:
The Polysomnographic Technologist provides sleep care services to patients according to provider’s directions and established protocols, performing Polysomnograms (PSG), Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance Wakefulness Test (MWT), and Unattended Sleep Studies. Must maintain technical skills and medical knowledge to ensure quality patient care.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
No minimum required; preferred: Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited polysomnographic technology program.
Experience:
Minimum one year as an RRT, CRT, END, or Polysomnographic Technologist; preferred: Two years as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
Certifications/Licenses:
BRPT certification as RPSGT and BLS certification from the American Heart Association are required.
Polysomnographic Technician Job Summary:
The Polysomnographic Technician provides sleep care services under supervision, performing PSG, MSLT, MWT, and Unattended Sleep Studies. They work under supervision until registered in polysomnography and can perform all functions independently.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Must be a graduate or currently enrolled in a CAAHEP-accredited program or related pathway, or qualify under BRPT's eligibility pathways.
Experience:
None required; preferred: Experience as a technician or in respiratory care or electroneurodiagnostics.
Certifications/Licenses:
BLS certification; RPSGT registration encouraged.
Schedule:
24 hours/week, day/night shifts
