Job Summary: The Polysomnographic Technologist provides sleep care services to patients according to provider’s direction and established protocols, performing Polysomnograms (PSG), Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance Wakefulness Test (MWT), and Unattended Sleep Studies. Must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to deliver quality patient care. Qualifications: Education: Minimum: None Preferred: Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited polysomnographic technology program. Experience: Minimum: One year as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Certified Respiratory Technician (CRT), Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (END), or Polysomnographic Technologist. Preferred: Two years’ experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist. Certifications/Licenses: Minimum: Certification by the BRPT as a registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Job Summary: The Polysomnographic Technician provides sleep care services following provider’s protocols to perform PSG, MSLT, MWT, and unattended sleep studies. They will work under supervision until registered and qualified to work independently. Qualifications: Minimum: Graduate or current enrollment in a CAAHEP-accredited polysomnographic, electroneurodiagnostic, or respiratory care program with a polysomnography add-on, or eligibility for RPSGT exam. Preferred: Associate degree in polysomnography, respiratory care, or electroneurodiagnostic technology. Experience: Optional: Previous experience as a polysomnographic technician or two years as a Respiratory Therapist, CRT, or END. Certifications/Licenses: Minimum: BLS from the American Heart Association. Optional: RPSGT certification encouraged.
