Advise nonprofit organizations on legal and tax matters, including formation and compliance. Conduct legal research and analysis of laws impacting nonprofit organizations. Support clients with endowments and restricted gifts, including policy establishment and investment management. Assist in corporate transactions, providing tax analysis and advice. Draft and review legal documents such as contracts and grant agreements. Manage client relationships and expectations under senior attorney supervision. Engage in charitable gift planning and estate planning discussions with clients. Stay informed on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the nonprofit sector. Requirements
3-5 years of relevant legal experience. Strong writing skills and attention to detail. Substantial tax experience with a focus on exempt organizations. Preference for candidates with an LL.M. in Tax and experience with nonprofit corporate governance. Experience with supporting organizations, social welfare organizations, and donor-advised funds is preferred. Experience with healthcare transactions is a plus. Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. Certifications
Licensed or eligible to become licensed to practice law in the state of practice. Skills
Strong client management and communication skills. High level of organization and ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to engage in public speaking and business development activities.
