Perform month-end Corporate level accounting reviews. Assist in the timely preparation and filing of consolidated financial statements with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), notes and MDA thereto, and preparation of periodic financial reports prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and government agency financial reports.
Responsibilities
Prepare and/or assist in preparation of individual and consolidated financial information for KMI’s SEC Form 10-Q and Form 10-K reports, annual and quarterly GAAP financial statements: balance sheets; income statements; cash flow statements; statements of retained earnings and owners equity; financial footnotes; management's discussion and analysis of financial condition and results of operations; other financial schedules, reconciliations and financial information. Assist in on-line filing of Forms 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K reports through Wdesk software application including XBRL tagging assignments. Document all prepared report sections and assist with review of sections prepared and documented by others to department standards to meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Perform complex analysis with Excel utilizing Lawson/Essbase/ Oracle’s Hyperion (HFM) inquiry tools. Prepare financial statements and related notes along with supporting financial schedules and information for quarterly and annual GAAP reporting. Review SEC, GAAP, and FERC reports prepared by others. Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex accounting issues. Document and present complex accounting white papers in assigned areas for Financial Management and external auditors. Assist the financial reporting director and vice president with internal process improvements. Coordinate and interface with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
